This reaction was successfully applied to enantioselective synthesis of axially chiral biaryls, e.g., I, utilizing internal alkynes bearing ortho-substituted Ph and acetoxymethyl in each terminal position. The axial chirality was constructed at the formation of benzene rings with high enantioselectivity.
