Vinylogous Mukaiyama Mannich reactions of furan and pyrrole based dienoxy silanes with alpha-fluoroalkyl sulfinyl imines provide a powerful synthetic access to a variety of amino fluoroalkyl gamma-butenolide-type and butyrolactam frameworks with high regio- and diastereoselectivity.
