General procedure: After purging with argon, a scintillation vial (10 mL), which was equipped with amagnetic stir bar, was charged with RuPhos (1 equiv), the aryl containing drug or the drugderivative, and [(L5-COD)Pd(CT-iSi~1fe3)] (l. l equiv) dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (THF,0.2 M). The closed vial was purged with argon and stined for 16 h. The resulting precipitatewas tlltered, washed with pentane (3 X 3 mL), and dried under reduced pressure to afford theoxidative addition complex (Figure 3).
