The same general procedure was adopted for the synthesis of all the complexes. The lanthanide chloride and tricyclohexylphosphine oxide were dissolved in hot ethanol. Heating was continued for 1h and the solution was allowed to slowly evaporate at room temperature during which time crystalline material formed.
